چکیده

Introduction: Liver metastases of neuroendocrine tumors (NET) show MRI-characteristics, which differ from most other liver metastases; i.e. they are hypervascular in the hepatic arterial dominant phase (1;2). The response of the metastases to treatment is not sufficiently reflected by the RECIST criteria. However, metastases of NET rather show characteristic changes to treatment, like central necrosis, hemorrhagic transformation and fluid-fluid levels, which are otherwise rare in hepatic metastases. The aim of the current study was to analyze, describe and quantify MR-morphologic characteristics and changes in liver metastases of NET at baseline and at different timepoints in treatment follow up. Additionally it shall be analyzed, how these MR-morphologic characteristics are reflected by tracer uptake in PET-CT and by changes in tumor perfusion.

Morphologic and Functional Imaging of Non-Colorectal Liver Metastases

Liver metastases are the most frequent malignant liver lesions. Besides colorectal carcinoma, gastric carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma, breast cancer, lung cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors are the most common entities that metastasize to the liver. The morphology of these metastases depends on the primary tumor. For morphologic and functional imaging of non-colorectal liver metastases, multiple...

I-41: Imaging Strategy for Diagnosis of Adnexal Masses Including US,CT Scan and MRI

Adnexal masses are spectrum of diseases from benign non neoplastic and neoplastic masses to malignant neoplasms. Endovaginal ultrasonography (US) is the fisrt and invaluable modality for assessment of adnexal masses because it is available and has a high negative predictive value. Important morphologic features are solid (vascularized) tissue, vascular and thick septations, and papillary projec...

Imaging of liver metastases: MRI

Metastases are the most common malignant liver lesions and the most common indication for hepatic imaging. Specific characterization of liver metastases in patients with primary non-hepatic tumors is crucial to avoid unnecessary diagnostic work-up for incidental benign liver lesions. Magnetic resonance (MR) is rapidly emerging as the imaging modality of choice for detection and characterization...

Radioembolization of liver tumors with yttrium-90 microspheres.

Radioembolization (RE), also termed selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), has been gradually introduced to the clinical arsenal of cytoreductive modalities in recent years. There is growing evidence for efficiency in liver tumors of various entities, with the most prominent ones being hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors. Hepatic metastases of numerous o...
